To commemorate the 30th anniversary of Island records, Tom Tom Club's groundbreaking first album, a DeLuxe edition of the album was released in 2009. The first disk of the album contains all tracks from the various versions of 'Tom Tom Club', including tracks from the re-issued version which replaced 'Booming and Zooming' with the Drifters cover 'Under the Boardwalk'. Besides all bonus tracks from previous vinyl releases, the fully remastered edition comes with rare material previously only available on 12" singles like 'Spooks' (instrumental remix of 'As Above, So Below') and 'Elephant', a dancefloor version of 'L'Elephant'. Also included is the rare 7" B-side ,(You Don't Stop) Wordy Rappinghood', a remix of the original smash hit.
But even more special is the second disk of this set - "Close to the Bone", the bands second full lenght record, was never available on CD before and comes with all 12" versions from the singles "Pleasure of Love" and "The Man with the 4-Way Hips". Also included on the second disk of this set is 'Yella!', a rapversion of "Genius of Love", featuring Steven Stanley and Robert Palmer.
