I used a Christmas gift card to buy Vampire Weekend since I hadn't been blown away by anything I heard, but I've heard about them all year long.
I'm pleasantly surprised.
Will this album have the staying power of Talking Heads album - I seriously doubt it.
If they continue to release more strong albums, maybe so, otherwise they could have a Strokes/Clap Your Hands/Arctic Monkeys type career arc.
