MdrMartin, thanks for putting that lame Jacko song in my head. I love starting my day with an earworm. :P

Aspiemom, whaddya think? DAVID BYRNE! Does anyone know if he's doing anything these days?

I love the word earworm. Only Germans could come up with a word like that. Kill the beast, Nat.

No idea what DB is up to these days, but the October playlist is pretty cool. Adult contemporary, but somehow still doesn’t suck.

David did a panel discussion on the internet and art or something.

here is a link

http://blogs.artinfo.com/artintheair/2011/10/11/watch-david-byrne-and-miranda-july-speak-on-paces-social-media-art-panel/

This whole exhibit seemed like kind of a flop, mostly due to most of the artist's lukewarm feelings toward the internet.

I wasn't impressed with David's fake iPhone apps, either. Just seemed like a stale idea, like maybe a bad gag from a late-night talk show. I usually love David's work (especially the bike racks, mostly cause I found them all in nyc and it was a great adventure), but yeah. The apps didn't do much for me.

I did like the parliamentarians fighting, though. That was a cool idea., though not really within the restrictions of the exhibition.

I kind of liked the one that added snarky comments. That would be a real time saver! But otherwise, yeah, okay. I’m jealous of your bike rack tour. Haven’t been to The City in a few years now. :bawling:

I think David should go hang out with the Occupy Wall Street people. If nothing else, I’m sure he could make interesting use of the human megaphone system. The inflated, squishy globe thing seems oddly prescient now.

God not a very glib panel, hard to listen to at times.

Yeah, Pace definitely threw some names at an idea for a last second show.

I actually meant DB's day job; you know, recording albums? He dabbles here and there with others, and I buy all of those projects that I hear of, anyway, but it's not enoooouuuuugh. (to keep me in line - that popped into my head, so I wrote it; deal with it)

Even if I thought DB was on Twitter, I wouldn't have tried to follow him - the minutiae just does not interest me.

And I agree with the rest of you - what terrible public speaking! (not even our boy quite pulled it off, which I think he knew, because he was laughing as much as I did)

Love the way he laughs at himself, and most of the other panelists haven't a clue why he's laughing. :D

While I still enjoy Db's albums a great deal, my original firey excitement has faded and died.
Howdy-do? This is Peter McCalister, the FATHER. I'd like a hotel room,
please, with an extra-large bed, a TV, and one of those little
refrigerators that you have to open with a key. Credit card? You got it!

That's a shame, because I really think that it was all because of that one bad experience.

Hi, Oe,
Great to see you on the bored board. Maybe the St. Vincent’s collab will give us something to shout about again. It’s after the fiery excitement has faded and died that things get interesting anyway. :karate:

That's amazing, thank you!

Aspie: That's true, I'm enjoying his music more now that I perceive it with objectivity.
