I Zimbra and Burning Down 12" "unreleased versions"?

Postby Trystero on November 21st, 2011, 3:07 am

Recently I found many ads in eBay and other web shops about a 12" I never found in the official discography:

A - I Zimbra (Unreleased Extended Version) 4:53
B - Burning Down The House (Unreleased Extended Version) 6:05
Sire Records PRO 846

http://www.discogs.com/Talking-Heads-I- ... se/3222023
http://www.stradarecords.com/shop/item/ ... anguage=en
http://www.nikamusicstore.it/catalogsea ... KING+HEADS

The notes do not refer to "The Name Of This Band..." live album, but to the studio albums.
The release date I read in the ads is 2011.

Is it a fake or an official release?

Hi Everybody, so nearly a year later, is this a real SIRE promo?
Are the tracks live or studio versions not found elsewhere?

Happy Boxing Day:

Hilarious remix of Burning ... by Todd Edwards. It's free to download. It's cool if you like dance music, but its too fast for me to take seriously :) I'd like to hear some more remixes by Jerry Harrison

Hope everyone has a Happy New Year :)

Looks like a bootleg to me... The original "I Zimbra" promo (which has the same cataloguenumber as this 2011 release, proa846) has the Brian Eno remix plus two other tracks. http://www.discogs.com/Talking-Heads-I-Zimbra/release/791875. It'd be odd to use the same cat number for different releases. The 'artwork' for the new promo is in the same style as other promo's form that time, but given the releasedate... it must be a boot.
