DB rare remixes?

Postby Trystero on January 3rd, 2011, 6:33 pm

Hello to all the board members,
I was registered in the old forum but the old login do not work, so I made a new account.

I am looking for the David Byrne vinyl remixes: "Make Believe Mambo remixes" and "Freaky wicked remixes". I tried in iTunes but I found only the official albums.
Can someone tell me if they are available and downloadable in some DB rarities compilation?

Well, they are very rare, and none of them are available anymore. The remixes from the Rei Momo era, like the "Lonely Mix" of Independence Day are quite hard to find. You can find some of the remixes from Freaky Wicked Remixes on The Visible Man, the rare 5000 copies limited album from 1998, but I'm sure you already know that...

The "Make Believe Mambo" remixes were only released on vinyl, so I doubt if you can find digitized versions on-line...

I didn't remember this on my previous post, but you can find a 6 minute long Club Mix of Make Believe Mambo on this CD (To Scratch That Itch - A Luaka Bop Compilation):

Thank you for the answers.
So I can only wait for CD compilations like Talking Heads "12x12 remixes", or digital Bonus Rarities & Outtakes which contains also remixes published only in vinyl (i.e. I Zimbra 12" remix and Thank you for sending... alternate version).
Or search for the vinyls in eBay auctions...

Howdy-do? This is Peter McCalister, the FATHER. I'd like a hotel room,
