Maybe this was posted already, but let's make an official thread for it. Oh man, I wish I could be there!!!, is anybody from here going?

The Talking Heads legend is teaming up with Brian Eno for two London dates
09 April 2009 - Ex-Talking Heads frontman David Byrne and U2 producer Brian Eno are set to descend on London this Easter weekend as part of the Ether Festival.

The pair, who will perform two dates at Royal Festival Hall on 12-13 April, will play tracks from their numerous collaborations - starting with with Talking Heads tracks Eno produced in the 1970s through to the 2008 album they wrote together Everything That Happens Will Happen Today.

I can't be there, but this would be amazing to see on DVD, if you know what I mean David! ;) ;)
That page also includes some sweet info about Here Lies Love.

*if* Eno joins DB on stage, it would certainly be something special... but I doubt it. The BBC article is very poorly written and suggests they'll do a full show together... I wouldn't be surprised if the author simply misinterpret the tour's tagline "the songs of David Byrne and Brian Eno". Eno is in London though, and even had a little chat on the Ether festival, so maybe he'll be there... I'm sure our special reporters from London will keep us posted :-)

-> Enoweb mentions Brian Eno and Jon Hassell talking in London on 9th April as part of the Ether Festival (no mention of the DB show); http://www.allgigs.co.uk/view/event/183020/Brian_Eno_Ether_Festival_2009_Purcell_Room_London_9_April_2009.html
-> Sounthbank center (the venue's site) only lists the David Byrne concerts with the standard promo text used for every concert; http://www.southbankcentre.co.uk/calendar?action=production&production=43265&performance=43266

Hi, Ruben. Our Great and Good Leader discussed this in private em when I received em from Ether Fest
with Eno/Hassell a month or more ago.His stance has not altered one iota. :respect:
reno and I speculated too in DB in UK Topic 09/04-of course reno will not be speculating Sunday evening :breakdance:

And, of course,we The TH People demand thick-of-it despatches from that particular Theatre of
Operations the moment DB's feedback fades into the....ether. (sorry!)

I will of course let you all know tomorrow night if B.Eno turns up! But alas, I doubt it. He's rarely even performed himself. With Roxy of course and with Robert Fripp a few times. He did a special appearance at a James gig, I believe. If he turns up at the London gigs it would probably be as an audience member. Wishful thinking though...

I doubt very much that Brian will perform. He knocked the idea on the head in the recent interview he did for The Guardian with DB:

"Rumours circulating that Eno might join Byrne on stage when the current tour reaches the Royal Festival Hall in London next month are dashed. Eno has said he'd rather be sick than perform again: "It's his show. For me to wander on and toodle around - I couldn't think of a way to do that gracefully." Instead, he's offering a conversation with Jon Hassell (the musician and horn arranger on Remain in Light). The subject? Making the world safe for pleasure; control and surrender; kinds of abstraction sickness; the north and south of you; transcendence and intoxication: what sex, art, religion, music and drugs have in common ... To borrow a phrase: same as it ever was."

Bryan Ferry-King of the Jungle could have announced "Calm down, calm down! Tonight Eno will NOT be

Hey, I'm not mocking him, believe me. (hubby and I aren't getting any younger, either)

I just noticed a stark difference in his physique from when I saw him in December.

Yeh just got back!
Spotted Eno in the royal box. And half way through "Take me to the river" he leaves and reappears on stage for the final song "Everthing that happens". Well the last chorus anyway.

BTW spotted Al Murray, UK comedian, 10 rows in front of me

Really enjoyed myself (10 stars)

That must have been an amazing experience! Love the fact that DB made him conform to the dress code of the tour!

Glad he made an appearance. Shame I wasn't there but like I said on the other post, I did have the great gig of my life last night so I can't complain! In fact, I'm still pretty psyched about it! :breakdance:

Now I must begin my campaign to become Steven Reker. I'll start with the beard first and worry about losing weight and learning to dance later.
