"One Fine Day"

Is anyone else totally addicted to that song?! It runs through my head many times during the day. It's hypnotic, and certainly one of only a few of DB's slow songs (really, really slow in this case) that I just love. "Never Thought" is a frequent earworm of mine as well.

I love One Fine Day- the start reminds me of Take Me To The River.

As much as I love David, I like (the original artist) Al Green's version better, though the TH version is pretty good. (especially the live version)

It took me forever to find the version of "Slippery People" that was done by the gospel/soul group, The Staples Singers. I finally found it on "The Ultimate Staple Singers: A Family Affair". (Pop Staples was a friend of David's and an admitted influence on him). On the Staples Singers' version of "Slippery People" David plays guitar, but Pops sings lead. (Pops Staples did "Papa Legba" on/in "True Stories", by the way). When Pops died, David did the tribute in Rolling Stone magazine.

Wow, I can't even imagine Pops singing that! Be cool if I could find it, though.
