Big Love: Hymnal

Postby reno on September 8th, 2008, 8:42 pm

My copy finally arrived today. I'm really enjoying the huge majestic sweeping sound of the music so far. Reminds me to his Young Adam soundtrack of course, which I really love. Hymnal is more uplifting than Adam however. Like his new album with Brian Eno, it is lined with positive melodies and suggestions for a brighter future.

Parts of it remind me of a soundtrack for a Wes Anderson movie...I think they'd work well together.

I love this album!

It is a great album for Autumn/fall and has stopped me from listening to Everything

DB is in a reall creatively fertile time with playing the building , everything, bike racks, Here lies love to come etc..... He also looks really happy with his new girlfriend

Can't wait for the first setlist on the 16th Sep of his new tour

This music reminds me of "Knee Plays" - a lot of horns. Some cuts are reminiscent of "Catherine Wheel" as well.

When you mention David Byrne working with Wes Anderson, I just had an image of my head exploding for some reason. Is that normal?

Those are very Christmas-y horns. Is there a Christmas vibe in the TV show?
