Postby Peterb on November 21st, 2008, 6:04 pm

The lead singer from my old band let me know on the phone tonight that there was a big ad in one of our local newspapers today for a certain David Byrne tour hitting Melbourne, Australia!!!!

Just got my ticket for Melbourne Feb 9th. They only went on sale today but heaps have sold already as the seating choices were quite limited.

I'm so excited.

Hi Peterb- shame you didn't see my post in your other thread- viewtopic.php?f=4&t=130#p725 I posted how to get pre-sale tickets with a special code.

Still, a ticket is a ticket right?

Hi Adam,

I did see that post, but yeah, didn't buy the tickets til yesterday. I still managed to get a stalls ticket though, so will be able to boogie down the front once we're all standing and dancing etc.

Tickets for the 2nd Melbourne show (Feb 10th) are not available yet...or weren't available yesterday at least.

I'm so glad DB is bringing the tour to Australia.

I heard on the radio this morning that a lot of big acts (Metallica, Paul MacCartney, The Eagles, Madonna) have cancelled their shows in Australia due to the current financiel situation.... I guess David travels light.

... You mean to say Metallica's drummer pockets $13.5 MILLION DOLLARS for selling some old paint-picture
he owned, yet they cancel dates due to the financial situation? Wonder who put the money in his little
pocket to buy said painting in the first place? Ahh, the rich get richer-the fans get screwed-over!

Mr DRC,

I knew you were joking, I was just too stressed out about DB Australian date confirmation to type LOL, Haha etc. Aussies, always legless was highly witty, so LOL!

So no offence was taken and I was genuinely asking if you were British, cause I wasn't sure.

(sigh) No bearing

I assumed you weren't Australian/Australian citizen and I'd seen some of your previous posts and had a vague idea you were British so I was curious and sought confirmation.

That's all....cobber! :)
