Love the Love Remixes?

Postby cyberyukon on October 13th, 2010, 4:07 am

The new "Genius of Live" CD comes packed with a full CD of "Genius of Love" remixes.

Unlike a lot of similar albums where the remixes are tired, lazy re-adjustmets of the original track these remixes take the song to entirely new levels. Each version is its own color...its own personality but yet still retains the essence of the original.

So my question is...which remix (or remixes) to you favor the most?

I interviews Senor Cocobut (aka Atom) a couple of weeks ago when he was performing here in Den Haag, and also spoke with him about the remix he did for 'Genius of Live' (the last mix on the disk is his). He described his version as a mix that he wanted to sound like 'Kraftwerk doing a Tom Tom Club cover". I think he succeeded, it's one of my favorites on the album because it takes a totally different approach on the original.

I'm really finding that each remix is worthy of its own study.

I'm still hooked on the Money Mark version. That's the first track. It takes on a sort of dreamy, happy, summer-and-blue-sky feel that spirits the listener off to a happy place.

Agree - the album takes off great with the Money Mark version. It starts like it's a different song.
