Which Songs Don't Belong On The "Best Of Talking Heads"?

Postby topjulian on April 11th, 2010, 5:01 pm

Between listening to the "Best Of Talking Heads" and reading posts on this website, I've been thinking that the "Best Of Talking Heads" isn't the real best of Talking Heads. I've made a list of replacements that I think should have been modified in the "Best Of Talking Heads.

Uh-Oh Love Comes To Town --> Don't Worry About the Government
Found A Job --> Thank You For Sending Me An Angel
Take Me To The River --> The Big Country
Memories Can't Wait --> Cities
Once In A lifetime --> Crosseyed And Painless
Girlfriend Is Better --> Slippery People
Blind --> Totally Nude

P.S. I apologize for the overuse of quotation marks in this post...

well obviously what's necessary is a double CD set. I can see a justification for every one of these changes, but then I can reason through changing it back...
Say something once, why say it again?

Only changes I would make would be to add Cities,Making Flippy Floppy & Love For Sale.

Actually, the songs that I replaced with different ones are good too, I just find that there are better ones from the certain album chosen for the best of album...

I'm presumiing this is about the 2004 release. I've never took any notice of them. What's the point if there aren't any new songs?

a/w
The book i read instead of Uh, oh love...
I wouldn't have HOuses in motion on it. It's my 2nd least fav. on RIL and i'm amazed it's winning the poll for that album on this website! I'd have put Cities or Mr. JOnes or any # of songs from True stories just to give it more representation.
And it's stoopid to call it the best of when it's really just, mainly, the most commercial stuff
This must be the space
