do you plan on having some covers band? what kind of concert projections? sms or something less famous?

quick thoughts... talking heads karaoke? a lot of big suited people dancing to once in a lifetime? covers competition?

i don't know... this must be the fest sounds great though.

Oh dear, you temptest me so!!
A few years ago, I went to a fan's (from this site) fund raiser in Ohio, and the theme was, yes, Talking Heads. There were several performers that did covers of their songs.
One of my favorites (of course I went), was a girl dressed in an evening gown and tiara, singing Heaven, in a soprano voice.
My very favorite, and I was still discovering TH songs, was a searing, scorching version of Cities. Excellent.
What I was suprised about, is that the club where this was being held at, was absolutely packed, maybe at least 400 people! Actually, they weren't going to let me in. I had driven 4 hours to get there, and told them so. Well, I was dressed clean and neat, and hopefully cute, and this very nice guy took me to the back door, and let me go in.
I couldn't believe my luck, there I was with wall to wall TH fans! It was a total blast.
So, there's something to start with. Maybe, just maybe, it's enough time for a lot of people to come. You know people like us. :-)
Do I see a reunion here Balto?? Can Cyber Yuke pull himself away from the slots? Francey, Chris, Tina, oh my...

[size=85]it was really just a thought & hopefully it will turn in-to something perfect - karaoke is a must - coverbands are welcome - maybe since theres so many battle of the cover bands - the movies & live tapes - there also should be another attraction like maybe at a casino or a booze cruse - there is a place on long island that can hold over 3000 & is outside & inside - near hotels & motels - asbury park would be cool - i have not idea how many people this would attract or cost or copyrights - but am more then ready to do the work to get this going - i know before i even think about a venue i need to get some of clue as to the number of folks coming --- anybody willing to help be sure & contact me.

fest in motion - life during fest-time - pulled up the fest- take me to the fest - stop making fest -

1. OUtdoors --- Look into securing a permit. NYC will be tougher than, say, a country-ish venue, outside the city in NY or NJ. Look at this summer's lil fests and the venues they've chosen, i.e. state, county and city parks with a bandshell, and find out about fees. Contact small-time promoters for advice...attend some fests to learn the ins and outs.

2. Indoors - contact clubs etc.

That's all I gots
