"Road to Nowhere" plays through the end credits of Bill Maher's "think first" documenary "Religulous", now available on DVD.

Sums up Maher's message rather intriguingly.

"The Rhode Island School of Design Museum of Art presents Carl Ostendarp, “Pulled Up,” an exhibition that not only borrows its title but also its optimism from the 1977 Talking Heads song of the same name.

...he borrowed the title from the Talking Heads because of their connection to RISD-- Tina Weymouth and Chris Franz are both graduates."

Sorry, typed that last eve in a mad rush and it's a bit ambiguous - I was refering to "True Stories" on the wall behind the madman dancing (if you call that dancing) he looks in pain most of the time.......

I'm reading Alison Bechdel's "The Essential Dykes To Watch Out For" (a compilation of 25 years of her comic strip.) In a strip called "decisions decisions" (2/20/08), two friends who haven't seen each other for awhile run into each other. Lois, who used to be a wild, polyamorous drag king, has been with the same woman for three years, and is raising a teenager. She says "D'you hear me? This is not my beautiful house! This is not my beautiful wife! How did I get here?"

NPR (the radio station of therapists everywhere) recently did a nice analytical piece and review on "Remain in Light".

Stumbled across a great history of Talking Heads in the library. Lots of fascinating stuff, going back to DB's childhood. And up to Little Creatures.

The band made it into a Jeopardy clue tonight.

Category was I Like Your Style (bldg types), showed a pic of a house, and asked
"The Talking Heads know you may find yourself living in this long, narrow style popular in New Orleans"

Check out "Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen" and you'll hear a thrashin' version of "Burning Down the House" by The Used.

A clip can be heard on Amazon.com and other happy .mp3 sites.
