BBc 6music radio channel have a new weekly feature called Paperback writers wherein writers of various kinds play music they like for an hr. Simon Armatage has just played Memories can't wait.

I don't really want to admit to this one. The TV is on. I AM NOT watching it. There's a film called 13 Going On 30. Don't ask.

Anyway, there was a scene at a birthday party for 13 year-olds and Burning Down The House was being played. A solitary, totally un-kool boy (who I suspect will turn out to be the hero) was dancing to it. The kool cowd ejected the tape and replaced it with Madonna...

Two tonight- Psycho killer playing in a trailer for some new programme, and a question on Celebrity Mastermind. Terry Christian knew who produced a Happy Mondays record in the Bahamas, but he still came last.

David Byrne on BBC Breakfast show this morning, talking about R.R.R. The interviewers were better this time, well informed and Bill Turnbull clearly loved the music!
