HELP-Looking for an old concert film

Postby doc70 on July 13th, 2010, 3:06 am

Hi folks,
Yes, I'm new here.
I wonder if anyone knows of a mid-90's concert film I saw on PBS tv a long time ago.
It was David Byrne with a huge entourage on stage. A very colourful, yet simple stage setting. There were silouhettes of people's arms and hands on the screen behind the musicians amongst a rainbow of lights going on and off. At times, when the camera was not on David Byrne, or other band members, the camera was on a fellow playing the trumpet I believe, he looked latino or african or both...
Anyway, songs that were performed were some Talking Heads stuff and his solo stuff, I remember him doing a really energetic version of 'Blind', it looked like everyone was having a blast...

That's about the best description I can give.
I've searched on Wikipedia and, of course, on David Byrne's official web site to no avail.

Does anyone out there know what I'm talking about?

That kinda sounds like the "Between The Teeth" concert film.
Am I crazy? Or am I so sane that I just blew your mind?!?

Hey Thanx Ruben,

I think you may be onto something.
It's listed on David Byrne's site under films, but with no active link.
I've searched and read up on the very few, scattered reviews, the best coming out of a New York Times review from 16 years ago(!).
It seems to be only available in VHS format and limited in quantity.
We should petition Mr. Byrne to reissue this on DVD...I am still affected by this amazing performance.

I wish I could watch a small sample of it, just to confirm...as far as what I've read, although, chances are this it :)

peace
