Jonathan Richman

Jonathan Richman is coming to Uruguay. Should I go see him?

It's not that expensive. But I don't know much about him apart that he was in the Modern Lovers (with Jerry - I haven't heard their album) and that's about it. Never heard any of his solo stuff, but I could start. It all depends on the replies I get here, lol!

Please tell me what to do!

Thanks!!

Hmmm, I can't decide whether you would like him or not. I have some of his old stuff which I enjoy, it's quirky and rather unusual! Offhand I can't think of anyone else who has written a song about an Abominable Snowman. Never seen him live, but if it's not expensive, why not?

I never saw Mr. Richman live, but some of his songs are among my favorite-evers ("Ice Cream man"!). Haven't heard any recent albums though. I'd say, go check him out, and tell us if we should see him too! ;)

In the late '80s/early '90s I saw JoJo every time he came to town and was never disappointed. His shows are always different, always entertaining. Maybe you'll be lucky enough to experience Jonathan's somewhat awkward saxophone playing. YOU SHOULD/MUST Go!
