Saturday Afternoon on the Island of Seurat

Postby cyberyukon on June 14th, 2009, 7:19 am

Took this photo this afternoon at Sunset Park in the heart of Las Vegas.

"Where have I seen this before?" I asked.

Ahhh! Yes!! It's a bit uncanny how much, in its own way, it resembles "Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grand Jatte" (Seurat, 1884).

High ISO, much grain, but beautiful picture. I like the painting on top better, though.

Seriously - great find!

Although I have to say, you see some pretty odd stuff in the Southwest. I don' t think I've ever seen a girl with a fishing pole and a baby carriage before. Maybe a sign of the times?

Maybe that supports Seurat's theme in a subtle sort of way...
